What Can I Expect at My Annual Well-Woman Visit?
Your annual well-woman visit is an important opportunity to focus on your health, ask questions, and plan for the year ahead. During this visit, your provider will review your medical history, discuss any changes in your health status and concerns, and complete recommended screenings to support your overall wellbeing. This is your chance to talk about personal topics in an open and safe environment. Our goal is for you to feel informed, supported, and confident in your care.
Depending on your needs, your annual well-woman visit may include:
- Review of health history, medications, family history, and vital signs
- Pap smear
- Physical exams: breast and external genital exam; bi-manual exam of uterus and ovaries
- Vaginal exam and pap smear
- Medication management, such as contraceptive or menopause counseling
- Mental health screening, including a general wellness and preventive care review
Please note: For billing purposes, extra charges may apply for some services. Learn more here.
What Can I Expect At My Physical Exam?
Your provider may perform a Pap smear or a pelvic exam during your well-woman visit. This is a routine procedure for every woman designed to identify any abnormalities or cancerous signs. Your provider will walk you through each step of the exam, ensuring your comfort and safety throughout.
