About Lizzie Wesser, CNP
Lizzie Wesser is a dedicated nurse practitioner at Southdale ObGyn’s Edina and Burnsville offices. With five years of experience as an NP, Wesser loves providing care and counsel for women of all ages.
Wesser holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Anthropology, and Nursing from St. Olaf College. She then earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice in Women’s Health at the University of Minnesota.
Her journey into the ObGyn field began after the birth of her niece, igniting a profound interest in women’s health. From there, she’s been passionate about a woman’s vast and ever-changing lifespan. Driven by her admiration for the team and practice/clinic, joining Southdale ObGyn felt like a natural fit for Wesser.
Wesser expresses, “Women’s health has been the heart and soul of my entire nursing career … So, being able to have a hand in helping women along the way is pretty amazing.”
Creating a foundation of trust allows Wesser to connect with her patients on a deeper level. Wesser’s genuine openness, warm demeanor, and active listening make her a safe place for her patients to feel seen and heard. To get to the heart of an issue, Wesser believes her patient-centric approach creates and encourages open dialogue for women to share comfortably—and, in turn, empowers them to advocate for their health.
Among many passions, Wesser is particularly invested in educating younger generations of women and emphasizes the importance of cultivating healthy habits that contribute to lifelong wellness and empowerment. Her work spans preventative medicine, contraception, and obstetrics, reflecting her commitment to women’s healthcare.
Outside of work, Wesser finds joy in her family, including four children. Wesser finds balance in her life by maintaining a healthy lifestyle through long-distance running and boxing, practicing her faith, and sitting down with a good book.
