Group Prenatal Classes Begin Early May

New group prenatal classes begin in early May for moms-to-be who are expecting in November or December. The course is for patients at OBGYN West who want to learn more about what to expect in their pregnancy journey.
The Premier Prenatal Collaborative is a fresh, supportive approach to prenatal care. This physician-led, 8-session program combines traditional one-on-one prenatal visits with group sessions for moms-to-be who are due around the same time. Starting at 16 weeks and continuing through 36 weeks, participants meet every four weeks for a two-hour session that includes a private assessment, guided education, and open conversation in a welcoming group setting. Along the way, you’ll learn about pregnancy, labor, postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, newborn care, and more—while building confidence and connecting with others on a similar journey. Partners are welcome to participate.
Call 952-249-2000 and ask about joining the Prenatal Collaborative or talk with your provider.
Here’s what new moms had to say about the program:
“We would 100% do this program again! With it being our first, we were brought so much comfort going through this with parents on our same timeline. It made both pregnancy and delivering so calming by being more educated and the additional time with the physicians.”
“We are first time parents and this program helped us in learning a lot of new things, which made our pregnancy journey beautiful. The care provided by the doctors and staff was compassionate.”
Perimenopause Class April 8 & 15, Southdale OBGYN

Perimenopause is a natural life transition leading up to the end of your period. While it can bring many positive changes to your life, it can be also a time of challenge. Many people experience symptoms that range from night sweats and hot flashes to problems sleeping and anxiety.
This 2-part workshop at Southdale OBGYN is led by Krista Bernhoft Margolis, a women’s health and functional medicine/holistic nurse practitioner. She will offer insight into positive steps you can take to improve your journey through this time of change.
In a safe, nurturing environment with other like-minded women, you will:

About Krista Bernhoft Margolis, RN, APRN, WHCNP
At Southdale OBGYN, nurse practitioner Krista Margolis uses a holistic approach to health care to support and empower women as they navigate the many stages and transitions of their lives. She strives to create and nurture a therapeutic relationship with each woman she meets, applying the principles of functional medicine, which include addressing the whole person rather than just treating symptoms.
“The perimenopause class was amazing and so was Nurse Practitioner Krista Margolis. I generally find very little value in what I receive from our modern health care system but Krista blew me away with the knowledge and solutions to the real problems woman face. She offered us an amazing mix of holistic and medical solutions to menopause and perimenopause.”
