About Reetu Syal, MD
Dr. Syal entered college at St. Thomas with an intent to major in accounting. After two years, she went to a genetics lecture with her roommate and was forever changed. She ended up majoring in biology and going on to attend the University of Minnesota Medical School. There, she met her husband and first became interested in taking care of women. Dr. Syal completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology through the University of Minnesota and has since returned to St. Thomas to receive her M.B.A. Dr. Syal is on the Board of Premier OB/GYN and is a leader in advocating for the optimal quality of care while containing costs. She has received grants to study the evolution of virtual medicine for obstetrical care as well as to study optimal management of gestational diabetes. Further, she is actively involved with M Health Fairview to support a durable relationship between MetroPartners specialty services and the Certified Nurse Midwives and Family Practice Physicians. Dr. Syal is board certified and a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology (FACOG).
Dr. Syal’s passion is in education. She understands the human body is amazing and complicated, but that it can also be predictable. It is her desire to share her knowledge with her patients as she feels they make better decisions when they are educated. Dr. Syal has a special interest in high risk pregnancy and minimally invasive treatments for gynecologic conditions, including in-office procedures.
