It’s common for women to build a trusting relationship with a particular provider who they see throughout their pregnancy. If baby arrives during a time when your dedicated provider cannot be present, a laborist is able to provide that continuity of care you need to feel safe during delivery.
In many cases, the ObGyn hospitalist provides their services in the interim between when you arrive at the hospital and when your provider can be present.
