White Coats for Black Lives and Resources for Supporting Meaningful Change

Above: Health care workers at Maple Grove Hospital joined healthcare systems across the country for 10 minutes of silence to support #whitecoats4blacklives.

Last week we committed to taking action to be part of a solution(s) to end systemic racism that impacts the health & wellness of our patients of color and the communities we serve. On Friday, many of our team joined other health providers in a #whitecoatsforblacklives effort at Maple Grove Hospital to honor George Floyd and countless others who have been victims of racial injustice. Saturday saw a gathering of health care providers at the state capitol – the start of an effort to address the health inequities in medicine.

We see opportunity to influence change from inside our medical sphere and outside of it. It starts with education. Our providers have compiled some resources that many of our team are taking to heart. Our hope is that you might find them helpful too as we start to work toward a better tomorrow for black lives.
