Patients who are pregnant in 2026 and expecting to deliver in 2027 may notice some changes in how pregnancy care is billed to insurance.
Beginning in 2027, pregnancy services will be billed as they occur rather than being combined into one bundled maternity claim after delivery. Your pregnancy care and prenatal visit schedule are not changing—only the way services are billed.
What You May Notice
You may receive more Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements from your insurance company, see prenatal visits listed as individual claims, and notice different billing activity for services received in 2026 and 2027. Remember, an EOB is not a bill—it explains how your insurance company processed a claim.
We expect most patients to have little to no cost-sharing for routine pregnancy visits. Ultrasounds and other support services may still be subject to copays, deductibles and/or coinsurance based on your individual insurance plan.
