UCare Enrollment Changes Coming in 2025

If you’re enrolled in Medical Assistance or MinnesotaCare through UCare, patients should be aware of upcoming changes that may impact coverage.

Beginning Sept. 1, 2025, UCare will no longer provide Medical Assistance or MinnesotaCare in several Minnesota counties, including: Benton, Chisago, Crow Wing, Pennington, Ramsey, Roseau, St. Louis, Sherburne, Stearns, Wadena, and Wright.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Coverage will continue through Aug. 31, 2025
  • You will receive a notice from the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) with information about selecting a new plan and how to enroll.
  • If you don’t choose a plan, DHS will assign one.
  • There will be no gap in healthcare coverage.
  • New plans will receive information about prescriptions and services to help ensure a smooth transition.
