What is Nutritional Therapy?

Nutritional therapy is an exploration and assessment of nutritional habits and interventions done with a registered dietician. This provides an opportunity for women to redefine their nutritional health and develop new, healthier habits based on personal goals.

Compared to other forms of dieting, nutritional therapy is based on individual health and experiences. Working closely with your registered dietician, you will learn how to identify and correct nutritional imbalances and deficiencies based on your current habits.

You will also learn how to properly prepare the right foods for you, so you can feel full and energetic after meals. Our providers also can make recommendations for support groups and further counseling as you navigate your nutritional journey.

When to Meet With a Registered Dietician

All women can benefit from meeting with a registered dietician. Whether you want to change your eating habits or meet weight goals, understanding what foods you need to support your health empowers every woman.

To better meet the diverse health needs of the women we care for, Premier Women’s Health of Minnesota staffs several registered dieticians. Your healthcare provider may recommend nutritional therapy based on your current health and goals.

Nutritional Health and Weight Loss

If you feel stuck in your personal weight-loss journey, a registered dietician can help you understand and develop better habits. Our dieticians can evaluate your current nutrition and help you create realistic goals. For many women, it becomes challenging to continue healthy habits after reaching your goals. A registered dietician is dedicated to setting you up for long-term success through personalized interventions and recommendations.

Nutritional Health and Pregnancy

Pregnancy brings a lot of changes for women, including new eating habits and cravings. Pregnant women can benefit from meeting with a registered dietician to discuss eating habits and general food advice. If you are pregnant, it’s important to make sure you’re consuming the right nutrients to support you and your baby. Our dieticians can help you understand what you need to eat throughout your pregnancy.
