About Lauren Collison DNP, WHNP-BC, SANE

Care philosophy: Knowing that everyone comes to the table with different life experiences, I strive to create a safe, welcoming space where patients feel heard, supported, and empowered to make informed choices about their health. Using trauma-informed, evidence-based care, my goal is to help you feel confident and in control throughout your reproductive and sexual health journey.

I decided to become a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) early in life after an NP made a lasting impact on me through her education and kind words. That experience inspired me to pursue a career where I could advocate for and support women throughout their reproductive and sexual health journeys, at all stages of life.

My healthcare path began at the University of Wisconsin–Madison where I attended nursing school. After graduation, I moved to Portland, Oregon, where I spent several wonderful years hiking, camping, thrifting, and exploring the Pacific Northwest. Professionally, I worked as an inpatient Medical-Surgical nurse at Oregon Health & Science University Hospital and as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) serving Portland and Southwest Washington. My time as a SANE deeply shaped my approach to care and reinforced the importance of trauma-informed, compassionate practice.

Eventually, I felt called back home to the Midwest to complete my long-term goal of becoming a WHNP. I earned my Doctor of Nursing Practice in Women’s Health and Gender-Related Care from the University of Minnesota in May 2025.

I’m thrilled to now be part of Premier Women’s Health–Oakdale OBGYN, where I can combine my experiences in women’s health, internal medicine, and forensic nursing to provide holistic, trauma-informed care. My goal is to support patients in making informed decisions about their reproductive and sexual health—and to ensure every person feels seen, heard, and empowered in their care.

I look forward to meeting you and partnering with you on your health journey!
