Nurse Practitioner
About Jessica Moritz, WHNP
Care philosophy : As a women’s health nurse practitioner, my care philosophy is rooted in the belief that effective healthcare is a collaborative partnership between provider and patient. I strive to create an environment where patients feel empowered to participate actively in their own health decisions. This partnership is built on trust, open communication, and mutual respect.
From a young age, I felt drawn to healthcare, a passion ignited by my first hospital admission after an accident in middle school. This experience not only shaped my understanding of patient care but also led me to pursue a nursing degree.
During my first clinical rotation in obstetrics, I had the privilege of witnessing the birth of twins. It was one of the most awe-inspiring moments of my life, solidifying my desire to work in obstetrics and gynecology. For over 12 years, I dedicated myself to labor and delivery nursing, where I was able to care for women during one of the most transformative experiences of their lives.
Eager to expand my skills and make a broader impact, I pursued further education and became a women’s health nurse practitioner. This role allows me to care for women through various life transitions, from adolescence to menopause and beyond. Education is a cornerstone of my practice. I believe that informed patients are empowered patients. I take the time to share knowledge about health conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures. This empowers women to make informed choices that align with their values and lifestyle. My commitment to women’s health continues to drive my practice as I strive to support, educate, and advocate for every woman I serve. My interests include general and high-risk obstetrics, general gynecology, management of heavy periods, management of irregular periods, PCOS, vulvar skin conditions, menopause, and preventive health.
I was born and raised in Grand Marais and now reside in Stillwater with my husband and two energetic boys. They keep me busy with school activities, karate, band, and baseball! I love boating on the St. Croix River, reading, and spending quality time with my family. I’m also a big fan of Twins baseball games, campfires, the beach, and volunteering at my kids’ school. A fun fact about me: my absolute favorite animal is the Florida manatee, a love I’ve had since first grade!
