New Menopause Med to Relieve Symptoms: Is It For You?

In May of last year, the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) approved a first-of-its-kind oral medication for people experiencing symptoms of menopause. The new medication, Veozah, is a non-hormonal option that specifically reduces the frequency and severity of hot flashes and night sweats.

How does it work?

Veozah targets the area of the brain that controls body temperature, the hypothalamus. It does not help with other menopausal symptoms such as vaginal dryness, sleep issues (unless related to night sweats) and mood swings.

Is it appropriate for you?

Veozah is a good option for people who can’t use hormones or don’t want to use hormones. That said, it’s not appropriate for all, which is why we encourage you to talk with one of our team to determine if it’s right for you. This medication is available by prescription only.
