Recent media stories have raised questions about using Tylenol (acetaminophen) during pregnancy. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists released a statement reaffirming the evidence around its safety and benefits.
According to ACOG, “More than 20 years of research have shown that acetaminophen is a safe, effective option for managing pain and fever during pregnancy. No high-quality evidence supports any claims that it causes autism in children. The real risks come from leaving fever or pain untreated. Always consult your ob-gyn about medication use.”
If you have concerns, we encourage you to reach out to your provider to discuss what’s best for you.
