Clinic Description:
MetroPartners Obstetrics & Gynecology P.A. is comprised of experienced practitioners who have extensive backgrounds in the care of women of all ages and are committed to providing compassionate, competent care at all times with respect for our patient’s health care concerns and individuality. Our main offices are located in Maplewood, MN. We also have an offices in Woodbury and Mendota Heights/Lilydale MN, and this candidate will need to be open to working in all locations.
We are looking for a full-time Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team. MLT or MLS certification required. This job also requires commuting to all three MetroPartners locations.
Job Duties:
1. Under the direction of the provider, perform chemical, microscopic, gynecological, hematological, parasitic and bacteriologic tests for use in treatment and diagnosis of disease.
2. Runs controls on equipment & performs temperature checks on refrigerator/freezer/daily and maintains controls logs.
3. Stocks draw stations with phlebotomy and injection supplies.
4. Reports any lab concerns, complaints, errors or QA incidents to Clinical Manager or MA Supervisor.
5. Responsible for all lab draws/ injections on the Lab Schedule each day.
6. Assists with daily order processes from outside lab to ensure receipt of all test results. Ensures that all specimens are appropriately bagged and placed in lockbox for lab pickup daily.
7. Orders and manages supply inventory for the clinic.
8. Greet and room patients in a prompt, professional manner while rendering the highest possible level of care. Provide support by assisting with in office-procedures, performing phlebotomy and giving injections as necessary.
9. Assists at the Front Desk and Scheduling areas as needed.
10. Attends required meetings.
11. Supports goals and philosophy of the organization.
12. Maintain patient and company confidentiality.
13. Excellent attendance and punctuality.
14. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1. Experience
a. High school diploma or GED
b. MLT/MLS Certification.
c. Minimum of three-years lab experience required.
d. Medical assistant experience preferred or willing to train.
e. CPR certification required.
f. Planning, organization and multitasking skills
g. Proven ability and personality to work with others.
2. Possesses knowledge of:
a. A working knowledge of computers; computer skills at the level necessary for
working efficiently in the company’s practice management system, especially in the
electronic medical record.
b. Keyboarding (typing 30 wpm)
c. Ability to read and write.
3. Possesses skill in:
