Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

 Job Summary

Observe and care for patients throughout examinations to ensure their safety and comfort 

Prepare patient for exam by explaining the procedure. 

Ability to use Ultrasound machine 

* Use of right arm/hand to hold and maneuver the ultrasound probe. 

* Use of left arm/hand to operate machine settings during exams. 

* Select appropriate equipment settings and adjust patients positions to obtain the best sites and angles. 

* Observe ultrasound screen during scans to ensure that images produced are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes. 

Provide oral summary and a typed report of technical ultrasound findings to physician for their use in medical diagnosis. 

Ability to obtain images according to protocols required by AIUM. 

Attention to detail – communicating important findings and being thorough in completing work tasks in a timely manner. 

Ability to bend/push/pull and lift up to 30 lbs. 

Near Vision: Ability to see details at close range (within a couple feet from the machine). 

Clean and Sanitize machine & probes after each patient use. 

Routine maintenance of machines (cleaning and vacuuming filters). 

Clean and stock supplies in ultrasound rooms. 

Other Duties as Assigned. 

Active learning: 

* Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future changes in ultrasound. 

* Continuous learning about Ultrasound machine software upgrades and computer systems (Tricefy and Athena). 

Continuing Education and good standing with ARDMS and NTT Certification if applicable. 

Requirements

Candidate must comply with HIPAA confidentiality standards when accessing or communicating patient information. 

Preference will be given to an individual with previous experience. 

We have multiple offices so candidate must also be able to travel to our satellite locations. 

Teamwork is essential for the efficiency and success of the clinical and scheduling environment at MetroPartners Obstetrics & Gynecology, P.A. 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Work requires standing/walking/sitting for extended periods of time. Must have the ability to react and perform in stressful situations and move quickly throughout the clinic.  

Qualifications

~ OB/GYN ARDMS Certified or certification obtained within 1 year 

~ NTT Certification Preferred 

~ OB/GYN ultrasound experience preferred needed to work along side and report directly to MetroPartners OBGYN’s providers in fast paced OBGYN practices.

  • Hourly Pay Range: $36.00 – $48.00 dependent on experience
